low res arts and culture report

tanlines last thursday at the wadsworth, “we’ve never played this close to a picasso before. sooo, we’re excited about that.”

if you were there, you will remember that things started awkwardly, that the regulars of the phoenix art after hours scene weren’t sure how to respond to the giant “mac twain” poster, the heavy tones of roman wolfe (who was phenomenal, by the way), or the influx of youngsters who weren’t necessarily there to quietly discuss arts and culture (although that happened too). You’ll also remember that the tension in the room built as tanlines’ latin-beat-electro-pop (i know, im not sure i got that quite right) became too infectious to bear(bare? beer?) and all anyone could do was dance. sweaty impromptu dance party. art punks, just punks, art connosieurs and young professionals alike. its unclear whether the dance party relieved or escalated tension. we shall see. either way, it was, like, totally awesome.

if you weren’t there, you should have been.
